The Grand Salon is based on an existing 1700s French Room, which was transplanted from Paris to a gallery in the Minneapolis Institute of Art: "Jean Gaillard de La Boxier, a royal tax collector under France’s King Louis XV, originated the paneled interior of this room circa 1735, when he renovated his house near Place Vendome, in Paris." (Mia written description)
My goal with this project was to 3D model an interior room that matched an existing space as closely as possible. I posted some comparison images here as well, that are based off of the several photographs I took inside the museum's Grand Salon.
